EXAMINING CONTROLLABLE FACTORS
What is the Marketing Mix?

The Marketing Mix describes the 4 P's that make up controllable factors for marketing managers.

Product: A good, service or idea
Price: Exchange for the product
Promotion: Means of communication between the buyer and the seller
Place: Means of getting the product to the customer

The 4 P's help to deliver products, services and ideas to the target market.

WEAK VERSUS STRONG SUSTAINABILITY
Weak Sustainability:
Incremental change
Operating under "Business as usual"
Preference for economic and social criteria over ecological criteria
Linear thinking
Policy works more easily
Belief that natural capital can be depleted if human and human made capital increases

Strong Sustainability:
System and subsystem change
Socio-technical change
Preparation for civilizational transition
Stocks of human, social, ecological and human-made capital should increase or be maintained over time
